Atelier art camp at the Farnsworth

Rockland — Farnsworth Art Museum will host a weeklong vacation art camp for children 8 to 12 years old Monday through Friday, Feb. 18 through 22. Led by artist and educator Avis Turner, the Welcome to the Atelier! camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily at the downtown museum’s Gamble Education Center at the corner of Union and Grace streets.

Children are invited for a week of diverse art explorations, where participants can choose from a variety of studio activities to mix and match to their own interests. Options will include still life, observational and imaginary drawing with materials such as pencils, chalk and pastels. Instruction and guidance will be offered.

Turner is an artist and educator with degrees in childhood development and art education, as well as an MFA in Sculpture. The fee for this program is $98, $80 for Farnsworth members.
