Apr 07, 2021
Ashwood Waldorf School will offer an array of summer camps this August.

Rockport — Ashwood Waldorf School will offer camps this summer for ages 3 through grade eight.

For the youngest campers, Ashwood’s nursery teacher, Tamara Rosenthal, will be leading five mornings of Field & Forest Camp for ages 3 to 4, Aug. 9 to13, from 9 a.m. until noon. Campers will explore the fields, waterways, and woodlands around Ashwood’s early childhood center looking for tiny creatures and plants, listening for birds, playing games, making fairy houses and creating art from materials gathered.

Rosenthal, along with veteran early childhood and grade school teacher Marianne Böckli, will lead a Field & Forest Camp for children ages 5 to7, Aug. 16 to 20 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Campers entering grade three to five and six to eight next year can sign up for the Art & Science full-day camp with Ashwood teachers Tabatha Tucker and Robert Kaczor, Aug. 16 to 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Half of the Art & Science Camp day will be devoted to artistic pursuits and half to scientific inquiry, as campers roam the school’s 32-acre campus. Group games and activities will be incorporated throughout the day.

Regulations pertaining to COVID-19 will be strictly followed. All camps take place on Ashwood’s 32 acres of diverse habitats. For more information or to receive a registration form, contact the school office at 236-8021 or or go to
