Rockport — Coastal Mountains Land Trust kicks off its popular Arts on the Hill series Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come celebrate the summer solstice with music and song by The Galloways, a triple trio of local young musicians, at the top of Beech Hill.

Bringing a picnic dinner, relaxing and enjoying the spectacular view on this first day of summer are encouraged. This event is free and open to all ages, but please leave the dogs at home. Refreshments and reception will follow the performance.

Beech Hill Preserve is a 295-acre conservation property, managed for the complementary purposes of maintaining its scenic beauty, historic value, grassland bird habitat and organic blueberry production. It is a .75-mile hike to the top of the hill from the trailhead on Beech Hill Road.

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. CMLT has protected more than 10,000 acres, offering 40 miles of trails for public access.
