Portland — For three recent days, K.G. had a new home, thanks to Rockport artist Jon Moro.

Moro's wooden upper body sculpture of Boston Celtics' center/forward Kevin Garnett spent three recent days at the Portland Expo, home of the Maine Red Claws basketball team, a development league affiliate of the Celtics.

K.G. was on display and available to be viewed by fans at three recent Red Claws' games, over the weekend and on Monday, Jan. 21.

"It has been a big hit with the kids, who loved comparing their hand size to a real National Basketball Association player's [hand]," Moro said.

Moro, who also has sculptured Nomar Garciaparra, among others, hopes the K.G. sculpture will someday be viewed by Garnett.

Moro, a former three-sport athletic standout for Camden-Rockport High School, said attending Red Claws' games is family fun, something he would recommend.

I want to see this. Is this on display anywhere local?
