Jul 01, 2019
“The Veldt” by Valerie Clemons.

CAMDEN — The Knox County Art Society (KCAS) is renewing its art exhibition at Boynton-McKay restaurant, 30 Main St., for the month of July. Each month features new work, which ranges widely in subject, style and medium. The new work on view this month — being added to the existing show — is by Valerie Clemons of Spruce Head, Ann O’Hara of South Thomaston and Vero Poblete of Waldoboro. In all, two dozen pieces by eleven area artists are on view.

Other KCAS artists participating include Del Babb, Pam Bardon, David Blanchard, Lauralee Clayton and Bob Richardson from Camden; Carol Douglas and Mary Whitney from Rockport; and Erika Manning from Rockland/Owls Head.

“Artists making personal connections in the digital age” is the primary concept behind the Knox County Art Society (KCAS). It is composed of and run by artists in Knox County and neighboring towns. KCAS’s mission is to foster in-person contact within the local community of visual artists. KCAS offers diverse activities and many kinds of support for local artists. There are now 30 members living in Camden, Cushing, Lincolnville, Monhegan, Owls Head, Rockport, Rockland, South Thomaston, Spruce Head, Tenants Harbor and Waldoboro. All artists are welcome to join.
