ROCKLAND — Beginning Monday, Oct. 21, the Farnsworth Art Museum will hold a five-week workshop on the art of anatomy. This adult-only class, led by artist Erika Manning, will take place on Mondays through Nov. 25, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., at the museum’s Gamble Education Center at the corner of Union and Grace Streets. Please note that there will be no class on Monday, Nov. 11, in honor of Veteran’s Day.

In this five-week intensive class, students of all abilities are encouraged to embrace experiential learning and release their ideas about what the study of human anatomy is. The class will deepen participants’ learning with movement-based exercises, lecture, studies of the skeleton, building some of the major muscle groups in clay, and drawing from a live model.

Instructor Erika Manning is an artist, as well as a massage and yoga therapist who taught anatomy and kinesiology for several years through Namaste Institute. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Boston.

Fee $300, $240 museum members. For more information or to register, visit
