Empty Bowl, Dessert Auction at MVHS

Art of a good meal/cause

Mar 28, 2014
Ceramic bowls handmade by Medomak Valley High School students play an integral part in the annual Empty Bowl Supper.

Waldoboro — The 12th annual Empty Bowl Supper and food pantry benefit is set for Wednesday, April 9, beginning 5 p.m. in the cafeteria of Medomak Valley High School on Manktown Road.

Attendees may select a bowl made by MCHA art students, fill with delicious homemade soup or casserole, add a side of salad, bread, dessert and something to drink and enjoy a good meal for a good cause.

No bowls will be pre-sold, but will be available on a first come, first serve basis for $10 each. A larger piece of pottery will be raffled; raffle tickets, $2 each, will be available in advance for those unable to attend the supper.

Additional donations also will be accepted, with all the supper proceeds will be donated to the local food pantry. To make a donation, contact fine arts instructor Ken Martin at 832-5389 or Ken_Martin@msad40.org.

Directly following the Empty Bowl Supper, the Class of 2014 Project Graduation fundraising Dessert Auction will be held, beginning at 6:30 p.m., also in the cafeteria. There will be exquisite desserts and decadent treats. For more information or to donate a dessert, call Wanda Benner at 542-3822 or Sue Simmons at 691- 8402.
