AVS News

This year AVS will be having a huge Thanksgiving Food Drive to help those in need in the community. We are asking students and families to bring in non-perishable holiday related food items to school by Nov. 13. You can bring any item you wish including potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned veggies, gravy, biscuits, cornbread, pie filling, pie crust, and any other item you think would be yummy for the holidays!! There will be boxes in the front lobby and in classrooms to put the items in. Let’s help out this year and all bring in something to share any time before Nov. 13th. Thanks for your help!

There will be no school on Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans' Day. There will also be no school Nov. 19 through the 23rd, due to workshops and Thanksgiving break.

The next Seniors to Lunch will be Dec. 10 at 11:40 a.m.

Host Families Sought for International Students

I am looking for two families to host two boys from Vietnam. Both boys are 16 years old and will only be here one semester. If you have thought about hosting an international student, this may be your chance. I have biographical information on both boys and can arrange for you to "meet" them via SKYPE To help offset the cost of hosting, host families receive $650/month. If you are interested in hosting one of these boys REPLY to, or call me at 230-1060.
