Anthony Lee & Associates Eyecare,- Office News

Opening our new optometry practice has allowed me time to get out in our dispensary with patients.  This means I have been replacing nose pads, replacing screws, and reviewing different lens types with patients.  While, this may not seem out of the ordinary, I actually got my start 20 years ago as an optician.  Working with glasses is exciting because not only is it crafty with your hands, but frame adjustments surely affect the vision they provide.

We have started offering Saturday appointments, and they are already popular.  Our next available Sat. appointment is April 19th!  If these become this popular, we may adjust our hours to get more people in.  I will be in the office this Saturday from 9-12 just for glasses and contact lens pickups or glasses repairs.  Our Tuesday evening appointments are every week!  We are in the office until 7pm that night.

ICD-10.  I mentioned this a while ago, but just a reminder that this fall all medical coding, including your eye care, is scheduled to switch from ICD-9 coding to ICD-10 coding.  This means that the subset of codes will go from about 15,000 codes to about 150,000.  Using our electronic medical records has us in a good position to process your insurances when they also switch over, hopefully without too many glitches.
