Anthony Lee & Associates Eyecare - Motorcycle Eye wear

By Anthony Lee | Apr 07, 2014

The warmer days are teasing for us motorcycle enthusiasts that's for sure.  It has been a long winter.  It always reminds me that during all my ocular disease/surgical rotations in the bigger clinics of Boston, the worst eye trauma I witnessed was that of a motorcycle rider.  He received the courtesy of being struck by an apple core that someone tossed out their window on the interstate.

Enough said.

Other hazards that are way more common include rocks, road debris and the infamous June bug or Bumble bee.  Less thought of hazards are simply the wind and ultra violet light from the sun and reflected off the road.

Keep in mind that good riding glasses have ANSI standards for shattering and impact resistance.  So not just any pair will do.  You can also get fancy with UV coatings and glare coatings that help with light management and visual riding fatigue.
