Annual Story Slam at Sweet Tree

Mar 13, 2018
Don Kleiner tells his story at last year's Sweet Tree Story Slam.

Hope — Sweet Tree Arts will host its annual Story Slam Saturday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at the nonprofit arts center, 4 Church St. at Hope Corner. This year's tellers will share stories about love, travel, cats and magic.

Each year, local storytellers are invited to tell a story around one connecting theme. This year's theme is Magic. Each teller will have approximately five minutes to tell, not read, a personal story.

This year's tellers are Tim Christensen, Mariel Dowling, Linda Zeigler and Arnold Perrin. Storyteller Meghan Vigeant will support the event with a brief storytelling activity for the audience.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and desserts and coffee will be offered. Note that stories may contain adult content. The event is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank.

Tickets are $15, available in advance online at sweettreearts.org or reserved by calling 763-2770. Sweet Tree Arts is a registered nonprofit organization; this event contributes to its scholarship fund and supports year-round and summer community programming.
