On June 30 sixteen women Veterans came together at the American Legion Post 30 in Camden to be recognized for their service to their country.
The women enjoyed manicures given by Joanie Recchia and massages given by Kate McMorrow and Kat Pound, who all volunteered their time to give the women a little pampering. The Vets sat around talking about their service time while awaiting their turn in the chairs.

The Vets enjoyed a meal prepared by the post after which they introduced themselves with their branch of service and what duty they performed while serving.  Quite a few of the Vets discovered they served at Walter Reed Army Hospital at the same time and at different times which brought out the camaraderie.
The ladies took away raffle items which were donated by many businesses in Camden, Rockport and Rockland, topping off the raffle with a drawing for a cruise on one of Camden's Windjammers.

Ladies attending the event were Zakia Thesen, Amy Stevens, Patricia Hurlburt, Maureen Malley, Madeline Littlefield. M.“Mike” Liason, Helen Waldron, Betty Richards, Barbra Perkins, Melissa Hepburn, Gloria Hall, Kristen Nelson, Kathleen McNary , Donnamarie Talaris, and Garnett Trail.

War Memorial Post 30 wishes them all well and extends a huge Thank You to each and every Woman Veteran for serving their country with pride.
