Alley, Dyer wins Vinalhaven Select Board

All articles pass, Trainor added to Water District Trustees

Vinalhaven — At the Vinalhaven's annual election June 8, it was announced that Pamela Conway Alley and Leslie Dyer will join the Select Board for the two 3-year term seats.

Alley received 133 votes, and Dyer received 121.

For the MSAD #8 School Board election, which had two 3-year seats available on the board, Penny Lazaro and Rachel Noyes will be filling in those seats.

Lazaro received 203 votes, and Noyes received 193.

For the MSAD #8 budget referendum, all six articles were passed by a majority of votes. Article 1, which focused on the school budget, had 144 votes approving the article, and 95 voted against.

Article 2, which focused on the cost center transfers, 158 approval votes, and 95 votes not in favor.

Article 3, which focused on the district nutrition program, had 180 approval votes and 50 votes against.

Article 4, which focused on the district adult education program, had 167 approval votes and 62 votes against.

Article 5, which focused on the CTE region budget, had 181 approval votes and 48 votes against.

Article 6, which focused on the CTE region adult education budget, had 159 approval votes and 70 votes against.

Two hundred and forty-two registered voters answered the above ballot questions.

In the results involving the Vinalhaven Water District, Lawrence Patrick Trainor won the single open position on the board of trustees for a three-year term seat. He received 108 votes.

One hundred and fifteen voters answered the water district ballot question.
