Lincolnville — Alice R. Merrifield Boody, 84, passed away peacefully and the way she wished at home Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021.

Born in China, Maine, May 10, 1936, she was the daughter of Ellery A. and Marion F. Prescott. From an early age, she was raised by her aunt Eva L. Sidelinger and Uncle Raymond O. Turner. Alice attended Union High School, graduating in 1954.

Alice married Laurence "Red" Merrifield, and together they raised five sons. Sadly, he passed away in 1993. She later married Kenneth Boody in summer 2000. She was sadly widowed again when he passed in 2005.

As a young woman, Alice worked in the local sardine factory and later went on to work at Tibbetts Industries in Camden for 30 years.

She loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed time with family and friends. She loved a good game of marbles and weekly card games with friends, Esther, Betty, Marion, Louise, Dot and Peachie.

Predeceased by both husband and her siblings Mae, Leander "Sonny," Fred and Regina; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Tina Merrifield; and two grandsons Raymond and Wayne Boody.

Alice is survived by her sisters Esther and Laurel; brother Allen; sons and their spouses Fred, Ken, Craig and Ruth, Randy and Claudia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alice’s family would like to thank everyone at Pen Bay Medical Center, Waldo County General Hospital and Northeast Ambulance for all of the care and assistance given over the past two years.

Friends and relatives are invited greet the family at a walk-through visitation, from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. Due to present restrictions, all are asked to wear a mask, and enter and then exit the building after a brief visit to give all in attendance the time and distance to greet the family.
