Ale House wraps Rock City week

Nov 10, 2017
Ale House String Band

Rockland — Rock City Café, 316 Main St., will offer live music three consecutive nights: Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 16 through 18. After Thursday’s tribute to Tom Petty and Friday’s jazz with By the Bay, the downtown stage will welcome back the Ale House String Band Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Ale House String Band was formed as a pick-up group in 2009 at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro; and codified their style while playing traditional tunes and covers of popular folk music. Oren Robinson, Brian Dunn and April Reed-Cox meld the theory and techniques of classical music with traditional folk styles. They also have an uncanny ability to improvise music on the spot. This summer, the trio released “Chasing Gold,” a full album of original music.

Food is available until closing. For more information on these and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
