Advance care planning doc screened

Aug 25, 2014

Tenants Harbor — Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice will present a free screening of "Consider the Conversation," a documentary film about advance care planning, Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Jackson Memorial Library, 71 Main St./Route 131 at 6 p.m. This hour-long film is relevant to all age groups, whether considering how one would like to live out final days or looking to honor the wishes and needs of parents or loved ones as they face difficult decisions.

None can predict what tomorrow may bring, so it is important to make health care wishes known. The film was released to PBS stations throughout the country in June 2011 and has created intense interest nationwide. It encourages viewers to consider what is important to them and why it is important to communicate those wishes sooner than later.

The community is invited to see the film and then join Richard Kahn, M.D., Pen Bay Healthcare's Senior Services Physician Specialist; and the Rev. Stephen J. White, D. Min, Chaplain for Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice, for a Q&A discussion.
