Waldoboro — Principal Linda Pease declined to comment on an incident that occurred at Medomak Valley High School Feb. 25 that allegedly resulted in injury to a student.

"There was a fight," Waldoboro Police Chief John Lash confirmed, but he said he could not comment further, as all the individuals involved are juveniles.

"I am sorry I cannot discuss student matters with you, as you know," Pease said in an email. "But, please know that we are always looking out for the safety of students and consider a safe and academically engaging environment of utmost importance, as our mission states."

School Resource Officer William Labombarde referred a request for further information on the incident to Superintendent Steve Nolan, who has not responded as of this posting.
