Acoustic Evenings return to Flatbread

Dec 05, 2017
The Midnight Ramblers

Rockport — Necessary Music Productions is resuming a sporadic concert series at Flatbread Company, 399 Commercial St./Route 1. The primarily acoustic evenings offer music spanning alt-country, roots, Americana, old-timey blues and everything in between.

The next Acoustic Evening will be Thursday, Dec. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. There is no additional charge for the dinner music. The show will feature The Midnight Ramblers, featuring Mike Cole on guitar and vocals; and Will Neils on vocals. Both will perform original songs they have written and play with their full band, The Midnight Riders.

The song choices will be a mix of personal favorites spanning old 1920s country and blues; 1950s and ‘60s soul; 1970s and ‘80s working class numbers; 1970s to present day alt-country and Maine artists; and current songwriters Jason Isbell, Mallett Brothers and The Coloradas. The one-guitar-two-voices duo has an appreciation of the particular styles maintained by songwriters like Steve Earle, Bruce Springsteen, Townes Van Zandt and Elvis Costello.
