Rockland — Multi-talented singer/songwriter Casey Abrams will return to the Strand Theatre stage with his unique blend of jazz, rock and blues Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. He will be accompanied by the Portland-based Maine Youth Rock Orchestra.

Known for his wild creativity as a songwriter and performer, Abrams has built a strong following that started with his public debut on “American Idol” in 2011; and continued with multiple album releases and worldwide touring with Post Modern Jukebox.

Following his stint on “American Idol,” Abrams released his debut album, “Casey Abrams,” which featured the Billboard Holiday 100 single "Baby, It's Cold Outside." In addition to releasing his sophomore effort, “Tales From the Gingerbread House,” Abrams has been a regular contributor to rotating musical collective Postmodern Jukebox, touring with the band internationally. He will make his Chesky Records debut this spring with a new album combining electrifying originals and compelling covers. "Robot Lovers" is the first single from this new release.

The Maine Youth Rock Orchestra gives classical orchestral students opportunities to collaborate and perform with professional touring artists, creating transformational experiences for both students and audiences. Since its founding in 2014, MYRO has performed with more than 42 artists including Guster, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Ballroom Thieves, Darlingside and Tall Heights; and was the first youth orchestra in history to tour with a band. MYRO will accompany Abrams for a majority of the concert, adding a lush orchestral texture to his dynamic set.

Tickets are $25 in advance and will be $20 at the door. Lobby and balcony bars will be open for those age 21 and older. For more information, visit rocklandstrand.com; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email info@rocklandstrand.com.
