A ‘REUNION’ of Downtown artists

Jul 22, 2017

Washington — The newly organized Corner Gallery, in the village at Mason’s Corner, has opened the 2017 season with a show fittingly called “REUNION: A Reunion of Artists and Friends.”

Artists Barbara Vanderbilt, Carol Sloane, Chelsea Witt, Cynthia White, Ieva Tatarsky, Joan Freiman, Lois Hill, Phyllis Janto and Priscilla Cross are exhibiting together in the space last home to the Downtown Gallery, which closed in 2014. These artists not only displayed their work side-by-side, but also managed the successful Downtown Gallery business for many years.

All nine still reside in the Midcoast area and are continually inspired by the diverse landscapes that surround them. Their media range from colored pencil and oil pastel to wooden sculpture. Each will be on hand at various times over the summer.

The Corner Gallery is open Fridays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Sept. 1. For more information, call (301) 254-5344 or visit cornergalleryinwashington.com.
