Rockport — Ashwood Waldorf School,180 Meadow St., holds its sixteenth annual All Hallows’ Eve Walk Friday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

This is a free, family event, where all are invited to discover an enchanted forest full of magical, mysterious characters. Young children and their parents may wend their way along a path and view scenes from myths, legends and fairytales. The mood is festive, not scary (although visitors may encounter a large spider at walk's end). Everyone is encouraged to come in costume, preferably homemade, and is asked to avoid frightening masks or costumes.

There will be two guided walks during the evening: at 5:10 and 5:45 p.m. Between the first and second walks, there will be storytelling for younger children, and for those ages 9 to 14 years. Music and a bonfire round out the evening.

To preserve the enchanted mood of the event participants are asked to forgo flash photography, flashlights and cellphones.

In the event of a hard rain, the walk will be canceled; check Ashwood Waldorf School's Facebook page to confirm.
