My Mother, My Angel

Rockland — My Mother, My Angel

It has been forty five since I have seen my mom
I know that she is up there shining with the sun
For although, I can not remember her face
You see, I was five months old, an infant, feeling safe

Today, she be would sixty five
Because of the stories told to me, she is very much alive
In the memories of loved ones that were left behind
Someday, I will see her, when it’s God’s time

There are many moments when I reflect
On the time I have missed but remember loved ones speak of her with respect
I only hope that she is very proud of her baby girl, now forty five
Way past the age that God took her to heaven, her spirit still alive

I miss her, sometimes so much, words cannot explain
That emptiness I feel for memories lost, the pain
But I know that she looks down on me everyday
My mother, my angel, who now takes the pain away
