4-H to offer kids' science program at library starting July 26

Cushing — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H will offer a free three-week session in its Summer of Science program at the Cushing Public Library, 39 Cross Road, for ages 7 to 12, beginning Friday, July 26, at 1:30 p.m. Using the Engineer Design Process, participants will act as pirates seeking hidden treasure while learning the science of ocean waters. The topics are Seaweed Filter, Layers of the Ocean and Salt Water Density. Kathryn Jensen will lead each one-hour session. Subsequent meetings will be Aug.  2 and Aug. 9 at the same time. The 4-H will provide all materials.

Attendance is limited, so it is recommended to sign up soon at the library’s front desk or by phone at 354-8860.
