State Sen. David Miramant, D-Camden, was re-elected Tuesday to a fourth consecutive term.

Democrat Miramant bested Republican Gordon Page of Owls Head by a vote of 13,761 to 10,275.

State Senate District 12 covers all of Knox County except for the town of Washington.

Miramant has served three consecutive two-year terms in the state Senate since being elected in November 2014. The Democrat from Camden also served one term in the Maine House, being elected in November 2006.

He is chair of the Legislature's Marine Resources Committee and serves on the Energy, Utilities, and Technology Committee.

Miramant is a pilot.

Page serves on the Owls Head Board of Selectman. He retired earlier this year as executive director of Rockland Main Street Inc., a position he had held since 2014.

"The support I received from voters throughout Knox County is humbling, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to have learned so much about our wonderful Midcoast communities in Knox County," Page said Tuesday night after congratulating Miramant on his victory. "I want to thank my wife Janet, my children, and my grandson Luke for their patience and love. I also want to thank my treasurer Dennis Norton and deputy treasurer Linda Post, and everyone who stepped forward to offer their expertise and experience. As we move forward from this point in time, please join me in wishing Senator Miramant nothing but success in his service to the residents and taxpayers of Senate District 12."
