Stewardship Education Alliance announces logo design contest

Mar 09, 2020

Camden — The Stewardship Education Alliance is launching a contest to choose a logo design that reflects its mission to increase community awareness of ways to be better stewards of our local watershed. The deadline for submissions is March 31.

S.E.A. supports teachers in all schools and after-school programs in Camden and Rockport, with grants for projects, activities and professional development that further this mission. S.E.A also offers programs and events for adults and makes donations to local institutions for projects and materials that support its mission.

The official entry form and contest rules are available on the S.E.A website, stewardshipeducationalliance.org. The winning artist will receive a pair of Maine-made silver and rose quartz earrings from Camden Jewelry Company, a compass in leather pouch from Surroundings and gift certificates from Owl & Turtle Book Shop, Reny’s Department Store, ScrapDogs, MidCoast Recreation Center, Lily, Lupine and Fern, 47 West  Surroundings and other donors. The winning design will be announced on April 6.

Over the past two years the S.E.A. has brought a Touch Tank to Camden Harbor Dock seven times, awarded scholarships to two teachers in Camden/Rockport schools to take professional development courses at Herring Gut Learning Center, given trawls and access to a boat to 7th Grade Science students at CRMS so they could study micro-plastics in Camden Harbor and donated books and Data-Discovery Back Packs to Camden Public Library so people can study local waters themselves.
