CANCELED: Lent series offers music, food and fellowship

Feb 21, 2020

Camden — St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church is delighted to announce its 14th annual Friday Noon Music in Lent series, an offering of 30 minutes of music in its landmark church, followed by a free lunch of homemade soup and bread and fellowship in the Parish Hall. The series’ musicians donate their time and talent. A free-will offering is accepted and will be donated to New Hope for Women. Each program opens with a short noonday prayer.

This year’s performers and dates are as follows: Feb. 28, Mary Sullivan, Soprano; March 6, The Camden Hills Regional High School Jazz Band; March 13, Dean Jorgensen, Bass; March 20, Howard Walen, Organ/All-Bach Program; March 27, Charles Brown, Piano/Psalm Settings; and April 3, Jay Zoller, Organ.

This series was started in 2007 as a way of providing a time to pause and a time for reflection at noon during the six Fridays in Lent.

All are welcome! St. Thomas’ is located at 33 Chestnut St. A handicap accessible entrance is around the corner at the Wood Street entrance. For more information, contact Clarissa Brown at 236-3680 or music@stthomascamdenme.org.
