Weather Brief Feb 13, 2020

Midcoast Forecast - February 13, 2020 PM

The Midcoast is picking up a fresh blanket of snow Thursday as an area of low pressure passes through the Gulf of Maine. This is resulting in 2" to 4" of sticky wet snow accumulation. As the low clears east overnight, an arctic cold front will sweep in from the north with a period of snow showers, ushering in bitter cold air for Friday and into the start of the weekend.

Morning lows Friday will drop into the single digits with wind chill values of 0° to -5° and highs only in the teens despite mostly sunny skies as cold air moves in along brisk northwest winds. Temperatures will continue to drop Friday night reaching 0° to -5° with wind chill values of -10° to -20°. Temperatures will begin to rebound on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 20s and continue to climb into Sunday with highs reaching above freezing in the mid 30s.

Clouds will increase on Sunday with a chance of light snow followed by clearing and cooling on Monday. Low pressure will move in on Tuesday with morning snow changing to rain into the afternoon as highs climb above freezing.
