Appleton — Danielle Gould was elected to a two-year term on the Appleton Select Board at the Nov. 5 election. Gould was running unopposed to fill the lone vacancy on the board. She received 167 votes defeating five mixed write-ins.

Gould said she had considered running for a few years and views the opportunity as a great learning experience and a way to get more involved in the town.

With no official candidates, the two-year term as a Planning Board Associate Member was won by Al Green, edging out 13 mixed votes. It is unclear whether Green will accept the position.

In all, 187 votes were cast out of 1,002 registered voters.

The town also approved both state ballot questions approving the bond by a 140-46 margin and the constitutional amendment 137-49.
