By Stephen Betts | Nov 02, 2019

Rockland — The Olympia Sports store in Rockland will stay open.

SB360 Capital Partners, LLC issued a news release Thursday, Oct. 31 announcing that it would conduct "store closing" sales at 76 stores, including eight in Maine (Bangor, Belfast, Biddeford, Farmington, Freeport, Sanford, South Portland, and Wells).

Olympia Sports opened its first store in 1975 in South Portland. Over the next 44 years Olympia opened shops in more than 150 locations throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest.

In October, Olympia Sports was sold to JackRabbit, an active lifestyle retailer operated by CriticalPoint Capital, a California private investment firm.

The Rockland store has been at Harbor Plaza Shopping Center for more than 15 years.
