MCSWC transfer station closed Saturday due to power outage

ROCKPORT — The Mid-Coast Solid Waste Transfer station on Union Street in Rockport will be closed Saturday, Nov. 2, due to lack of electricity.

A pole with an electrical transformer snapped, according to administrative assistant Beth Kwiatkowski. The transformer runs the trash compactors. The pole had been replaced, but the electrical service had not been restored as of Nov. 2.

The closure was announced at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 1.
