Maine Sport Outfitters welcomes bikers to a Turkey Ride Nov. 16

Oct 28, 2019

Maine Sport Outfitters will host a Turkey Ride, Saturday, Nov. 16, to benefit the Camden Area Food Pantry. Starting at 9 a.m., participants will bike from Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport to Hannaford in Camden, where they will purchase a frozen turkey. Participants are then responsible for transporting their turkey from Hannaford to the Camden Area Food Pantry on Mt. Battie Street in Camden. After a successful drop-off, participants can bike back to Maine Sport Outfitters to partake in hot beverages and snacks, provided by the Bay View Collection (Lord Camden Inn, Grand Harbor Inn and 16 Bay View.)

This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome. Those under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must wear a helmet and sign a waiver in order to participate. Registration for the ride is free; participants should bring at least $25 to cover the cost of the frozen turkey they will be purchasing at Hannaford. Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and bring along a backpack or pannier to carry their frozen turkey. A rain/snow date has been set for Sunday, Nov. 17.
