Oct 24, 2019
Camden Rockport Middle School’s Fundraising event will host local artist and children’s book author, Chris Van Dusen, at the Camden Snow Bowl Nov. 16.

Camden — The Camden Rockport Middle School’s Fundraising Committee invites the community to its fundraising event with local artist and children’s book author, Chris Van Dusen, at the Camden Snow Bowl, 20 Barnestown Road, Camden, Saturday, Nov. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The event will include live music, food for purchase, an If I Built a S’mores bar, and a reading by the bonfire from Van Dusen’s latest book, “If I Built a School.” The afternoon will include an art auction and sales of prints and T-shirts from artwork in the book, some of which will be specially modified for this event. Attendees will also be able to purchase and name a seat in the Bisbee Theater at the new Camden Rockport Middle School. Funds raised will be used for the new middle school’s athletic fields, theater lighting, playground equipment, furniture, and an art sculpture.

Van Dusen will donate a one-of-a kind, ready to hang canvas print of an image from his “If I Built a School” book, to be auctioned off at the event. Those who are unable to attend the event, can bid on the print here. Absentee bidding will close Nov. 15 at 3 p.m.
