North Haven — A 21-year-old North Haven man is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday afternoon, Sept. 13, after being charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Easton Adams was arrested Thursday evening on a Class A gross sexual assault warrant issued a day earlier by the court. The Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested Adams, who was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland.

No bail was set.

According to an affidavit filed by the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Knox County Court, the assault occurred Sept. 8 on North Haven. While the affidavit stated that the victim said the sex was consensual, the girl has not reached the age of consent in Maine,

Adams fled the island that day and went to Rockland, according to the police report.
