The back of this photo contained the following comment:

“This is the Rockport Boys Band when we were marching Memorial Day. The G.A.R. hired us to play and was going to give use $30 then G.H. M. Barrett stuck his nose in and hired R.G. Ingraham. Everybody was mad so we got the firemen to march with us and had a ball game just as the other parade went across the bridge. We started blasting and marched up to the ball ground and took all the crowd away from the other parade. We played at the ball ground then took up a collection and got $10.01, so not so bad. Bee says be sure and come home.

P. T. G.

If you can’t find me bring this home and I will show it to you.”
