See antique trucks and tractors in Owls Head July 20-21

Jul 11, 2019

Owls Head — The Owls Head Transportation Museum holds its Antique Truck & Tractor Show July 20 and 21 starting at 10 a.m. each day, rain or shine.

The show will also include military and commercial vehicles, and demonstrations will take visitors behind the scenes to view the complicated machinery under the hoods of these road giants, and offer a glimpse into the lives of those behind the wheel. The event will also feature aircraft demonstrations, weather permitting.

In addition to the showcase of vintage tractors and trucks on display, the museum will welcome International Harvester trucks as this year’s featured marque, waiving entrance fees for all exhibitors displaying an International Harvester of any year or model. There will be time-honored traditions, like the noontime horn blow and antique tractor parade, as well as new and exciting sights. In addition, there will be live music, a memorial flyover and interactive demonstrations of sleep cabs, blind-spot maneuvering and more.

Throughout the day, museum staff and volunteers will demonstrate a selection of cars, motorcycles and aircraft from its collection. The museum will also be running a two-day sale during the show, selling scenic biplane rides for 50 percent off —$100 for members and $150 for nonmembers.

Gates open at 9 a.m. for exhibitors. All pre-1999 vehicles are invited to join the exhibitors' show both days to receive two free admissions per vehicle. Also available will be a full-service café, kids' activities and free vintage vehicle rides.

Event admission is $18 for adults. Individuals under age 18, as well as retired career veterans and active-duty military, are admitted free. For more information, visit owlshead.org/event or call 594-4418.
