Weather Brief Mar 26, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - March 26, 2019 AM

We are off to a cold start to the day but sunshine will continue today. Cold and dry air is filtering in as winds hold out of the north with high pressure build in from the west. This will drop lows to the teens and 20s with highs holding in the 30s. The high will set up on top of New England on Wednesday ending the cold north flow allowing for temperatures to rebound into the 40s.

High pressure will shift east during the late week switching winds out of the south which will continue the warming trend with mid 40s by Thursday afternoon to near 50 on Friday. The warm weather will be accompanied by a round of showers as a cold front moves in from the northwest Friday. The front will stall out over the region on Saturday then lift back north as a warm front with continued rain chances. Temperatures will remain on the mild side with highs near 50 with some 60s for far southwest Maine. The wet weather continues into Sunday as the front once again shifts back south as a cold front. Rain may change briefly to snow Sunday night as temperatures drop behind the front. Skies will clear heading into the early week as cooler air continues to filter in.
