Good skiing conditions keep Snow Bowl open daily in March

By Susan Mustapich | Mar 13, 2019

CAMDEN — Due to excellent conditions, the Select Board urged Snow Bowl management to remain open weekdays and weekends in March when the weather is good.

Board members spoke about the wealth of snow produced at the town-owned ski area, and the great skiing, March 12, and asked Snow Bowl General Manager Beth Ward to consider opening during the week, instead of just during the weekends as recently planned.

Ward produced financial information showing that to date, Snow Bowl revenue exceeds expenses by about $100,000.

Daily postings on Facebook will update skiers on the hours.

On March 13, the Snow Bowl opened for limited skiing from 2 to 6 p.m. The triple chairlift will be the only lift open, and no lessons or food will be offered.

The plan is to open March 14, from 12 to 6 p.m. as well. If conditions allow, March 15 the hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Saturday and Sunday March 16 and 17, the hours for the ski area will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Big-T Snack Bar will be serving food and beverages Fridays and weekends, when the ski area is open.
