Weather Brief Mar 07, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - March 7, 2019

High pressure has built in from the west ushering cold air along breezy northwest winds knocking our morning lows down to the single digits with highs in the upper teens and low twenties despite a good deal of sunshine. Sunny conditions will continue on Friday with lighter west winds bringing highs back around 30. The warming trend will continue into Saturday with highs in the mid 30s but feel more like the low 40s with sunshine through the day.

The second half of our weekend will be more active as an area of low pressure moves in from the west pushing a round of winter mix into the Midcoast. This will start out as snow around the midday hours but increasing south winds will help to raise temperatures into the mid to upper 30s, changing snow to rain for much of the Midcoast. Snow accumulations looks low with a trace to 3 inches for the Midcoast with most of this melting after the change to rain. Precipitation will end by sunrise Monday but the warm air will continue to work in with highs in the 40s. We'll clear out and cool down slightly heading into the mid week but temperatures will remain milder overall.

Don't forget to 'Spring Ahead' Saturday night as we move our clocks ahead 1 hour. This will bring sunset time to around 6:40pm Sunday!
