Weather Brief Feb 18, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - February 18, 2019

Light snow has been falling through Monday as an area of low pressure slid by offshore leaving a fresh dusting over the Midcoast. This will clear late in the day allowing for the return of sunshine Tuesday as high pressure moves in from the west. This high will also continue to pump in cold air from the north with lows dipping into the single digits and highs only in the 20s through the mid week. The cold air will set the stage for a late week winter storm.

Broad low pressure will push in from the west Wednesday night with accumulating snow and some mixing possible along the immediate coast. The exact track and intensity are still in question by early estimates peg this around 3" to 6" with lesser amounts possible were mix with rain is observed. We'll see clearing on Friday with sunshine continuing Saturday followed by another chance for winter weather on Sunday.
