Children's cancer foundation to hold dinner, auction Feb. 23

Rockland — The Nathan Robertson Memorial Foundation will hold a spaghetti supper and auction Saturday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Rockland Elks Lodge, 210 Rankin St. Admission is $8 for adults, free for children 10 and younger.

Some of the items for auction include A chance to ride in the Thomaston Police Department cruiser during the 4th of July Parade; a VIP experience at the Coastal 200 at Wiscasset Speedway; seven resort stays in the Barbados, Panama, Antigua, and more; a side-by-side bench from Cedar Works; a stay at the Hampton Inn; a two-night stay at Katahdin Cabins; a weekend getaway to Bar Harbor; a year of free trash removal from R&D Trash Removal; a flight seeing Tour from Penobscot Island Air; a meet and greet with former Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens; and more.

The nonprofit is named for Nathan Robertson, a 2006 Georges Valley High School graduate who died in 2008 after a three-year battle with desmoplastic small round cell tumor. The charity helps family with expenses related to childhood cancer and other serious illnesses.
