Artwork by: Catinka Knoth Adults will draw Halloween pumpkins and other autumn themes during October.

Rockland — Catinka Knoth will lead a weekly art workshop series for adults on creating October art, meeting 11 a.m. most Mondays in October (closed Columbus Day, Oct. 8) in the Community Room of the library, 80 Union St.

Participants will create their own art, with Knoth providing instruction and guidance. Participants will work with pencil, colored pencil, crayon and sometimes scissors, with a focus on drawing in color. Each class will have a different theme: Oct. 1, apples and apple trees; Oct. 15, autumn leaves; Oct. 22, fall scenes; Oct. 29, Halloween pumpkins.

Led by Knoth, who provides the classes free of charge and supplies materials, participants will create their own art. They will work with pencil, colored pencil and crayon, and sometimes scissors, with a focus on drawing in color.

Friends of Rockland Library hosts the workshops, which are open to the public. Knoth also teaches a free weekly children's drawing class at the library, sponsored by Wendy and Keith Wellin. For more information, call Knoth at 691-5544 or the library at 594-0310.

Knoth paints watercolors of Maine and whimsical animal scenes, which she offers as cards and prints. For more information about her work, visit
