Weather Brief May 16, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - May 16, 2018

It was a pleasant day across the Midcoast Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds as high pressure built in from the north and the front that moved through Tuesday with rain stalled to the south with showers lingering across southern New England. Canadian high pressure also brought in cooler air with parts of the state waking up to 20s and 30s north and 40s at the coast and highs only into the 50s.

Clouds will linger along the coast on Thursday as highs climb into the upper 60s and low 70s. A cold front will push in from the north through the day that will allow for cooler air to filter in for the late week and start of the weekend with highs dipping back to the 50s and 60s.

The front stalled to our south will lift north as a warm front on Saturday returning us to mostly cloudy skies with rain pushing in during the afternoon and evening. Showers will linger during the overnight and into Sunday morning with clearing into the afternoon. Temperatures will rebound around 70 on Sunday with the warmth holding into the early week.
