Arts in Action to offer program for youth April 21

Rockland — Arts in Action will offervacation-week programming at the Flanagan Community Building Saturday, April 21, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Arts in Action artists, along with youth from The Landing Place and their mentors, will share a variety of techniques developed at Arts in Action this year. Featured will be mural painting, pet portraiture and sketching, plus sculptural uses for fusing plastics to make bags, as well as crafting jewelry out of recyclables. Participants may also enjoy team-building games and fac- printing. All are welcome to attend and learn more about how to stay involved in upcoming summer community art and youth events including Summer Solstice.

Arts in Action is a program offered by RSU 13 Adult and Community Education to create opportunities for youth artists to showcase and share their talents by pairing fine arts education with community arts and service learning projects.

The vacation-week event is free and open for ages 8 and older, younger children may attend with an adult. This is a drop-in offering, but registrations are welcome and encouraged. Contact Rockland Community Building at 594-0321, or RASA Arts in Action directly at, or call 691-2156.
