Two Medomak Valley sophomores win medals at state science fair

Waldoboro — Seven Medomak Valley High School students participated in the Maine State Science Fair at Thomas College March 24, where they competed against more than 275 other students from 27 other schools.

Serena Blasius, left, was awarded second place and Natalie Shields, right, was awarded third in their category of Animal Science-behavior and physiology. Both are sophomores, who were attending the science fair for the first time. Shields was also given special recognition by the judges, receiving the Reach Award for going above and beyond in her research.
