While my roots go back generations on Matinicus Island, I moved to Owls Head after college and started a family. Then I started selling real estate. As my children grew, I found I missed the island. My family has always been lobstermen on Matinicus. Something brought me to the point of saying, ‘That is where I need to be, for at least part of the time.’ So I named my new lobster boat after my grandmother, and in the winter, I take over a desk in our Rockland office. It’s such a nice balance, I’m lucky I can do it.

While I handle most of the real estate transactions on Matinicus, I enjoy my mainland work as well. I spend my winters here on the mainland and hold a desk at the Rockland office.

I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, cooking, hiking, cross country skiing, and flying with my father in his Cessna airplane.
