Knox County sees five more COVID-19 cases, CDC reports Wednesday

Statewide an additional 319 cases were reported during the past day. There were no additional deaths reported statewide June 8, keeping the number at 2,400.

There were 17 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,049 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 153 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from 183 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 153 hospitalized, 21 are in critical care units and eight on ventilators. Seventy-six critical care beds are available in Maine.
