    Inmate Foster Bates is proud of his accomplishments at the Maine State Prison in Warren. As president of the prison branch of the NAACP, he advocates to improve prison policies and conditions. He helped form a legislative committee to work toward that end and also organized an in-house Martin Luther King Day celebration in January.
