Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers is seeking individuals and business who can support hospice patients with such skills as massage therapy, music therapy, art therapy, pet therapy and other alternative therapies, such as reiki, for a reduced rate or reasonable agreed-upon fee. Also needed are certified hair dressers and nail care professionals who would be willing to go to a patient’s home and provide services.

Studies show complementary care can enhance the quality of care for patients nearing the end of life. These types of services are even associated with a lessening of symptoms, including anxiety and pain, and improvements in mood and a sense of control.

CFHV supports hospice patients and their families by providing companionship to the dying and respite to the caregivers. We support those who are grieving through mailings, phone calls, one-on-one peer support and volunteer-led support groups.
