ROCKLAND — The following cases were completed in the Knox County court from Jan. 13 through Jan. 20.

Claire Turner, 32, of Warren, was sentenced Jan. 18 to seven years in prison with all but 18 months suspended to be followed by three years of probation for aggravated assault on July 13, 2022.

According to an affidavit filed in the Knox County court by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the victim said Turner approached her as if she wanted a hug and then Turner stabbed her with a serrated knife. The victim was having trouble breathing and was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Police were able to speak to the victim at the hospital.

Turner was on probation for a domestic violence assault at the time of the stabbing.

The sentence was agreed to between the district attorney’s office and defense. Turner’s young age, her mental health issues, and the support of the victim for the sentence were noted before the sentence was imposed by Justice Jeffrey Hjelm.
