ROCKLAND — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), 21 Winter St., offers two ArtLabs in early February.
Join fiber artist Bobbi Tilkens-Fischer Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the February ArtLab for All. Looking closer at Biennial artist Pamela Moulton’s woven wall
hangings and weaving in the round process, attendees learn to make small round fiber sculptures using a variety of yarns and fibers.
At the Early Release ArtLab Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m., artist Rachel Alexandrou shows participants how to work with color, transparency and light by folding and
layering kite paper into gem-like 2D or 3D sculptures that can be hung in a window to brighten up dark February days. This workshop is inspired by artist Shaina Gates’ Biennial artwork.
Both workshops are free and open to all ages, learn more at cmcanow.org.
